Two generations of security, based in the Netherlands

What began in 1974 with hand-built alarm panels in Rotterdam, we deliver today from Alphen aan den Rijn for clients across the Netherlands. Second generation, the same drive for craftsmanship.

How it began

Half a century of craftsmanship, started with hand-built alarm panels

In 1974, the father of Kees Bek started his own installation company in Rotterdam, out of a love for the technology, as Kees puts it. The industry was still in its infancy. Anyone who wanted a reliable alarm panel in those days often simply had to build it themselves. So that is what he did. The first panels we delivered came straight from the workshop.

Fifty years on, we no longer build the panels ourselves, but the mentality has remained. No subcontractors, no intermediate stops. Our own engineers run the cabling, mount the detectors and return later for the maintenance. Intruder detection, fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, plus monitoring through an alarm receiving centre and alarm response. All under one roof.

In 1994 we moved from Rotterdam to Alphen aan den Rijn, the year Kees joined his father in the business. Since then we have grown in step with our own ambition. First on the Energieweg, later at the Lionspark, and since 2025 from premises we developed ourselves on the Gouwelandenlaan. From that office we serve clients throughout the Netherlands, from a single commercial unit nearby to a distribution centre with hundreds of cameras.

Leadership

The management team since 2026

Over fifty years, Cebec has grown from a one-man business with hand-built alarm panels into a specialist that masters the full range of security technology. With that growth came the need for additional operational capacity. Since January 2026, Kees has no longer led the company alone: Lex Visser sits alongside him as operations director.

Kees Bek

“Good advice sells itself.”

Kees has led his father's company since 2000. He joined in 1994 and learned the trade from the inside out over six years before taking it over in full. With Lex at his side, Kees now focuses entirely on what he does best: advisory meetings with clients, commercial projects and the technical preparation of work.

Kees does not believe in sales pitches, and certainly not in off-the-shelf packages. Security is a profession full of regulations and insurance requirements that many clients struggle to navigate. Helping people through that is what motivates him. Staying hands-on with the technology and with innovation is inseparable from that. Without knowing what is possible, you simply cannot advise on the best solution.

Kees also contributes his expertise beyond Cebec. Since 2019 he has sat on the board of the VEB (the Dutch association of recognised security companies, which safeguards the quality standards for the sector). Since 2024 he has also chaired Alarmgroep Nederland, the partnership between installers, alarm receiving centres and alarm-response providers.

Operations Director

Lex Visser

Lex Visser brings twenty years of experience in the operational leadership of large organisations. He was previously business unit director at Trigion Aviation Security at Schiphol and Rotterdam The Hague Airport, an operation with hundreds of staff where the planning has to be right to the minute. He now applies that experience at Cebec to organise the growth of recent years effectively: clear agreements, smooth communication and engineers who are in the right place on time.

Our position in the industry

We like to contribute to a dynamic industry

A good security installation stands or falls on the standards behind it: NEN 2535 (the Dutch standard for fire alarm systems), the VRKI risk classification (the framework that grades a building's security risk), REOB (the Dutch scheme for inspecting portable fire extinguishers) and the VEB accreditation requirements. They determine what your insurer will accept and whether your alarm does what it should. We work to those standards, and Kees also sits on the board of two organisations that help to set them.

VEB board member since 2019

The VEB sets the accreditation requirements for the Dutch security industry. From the board, Kees focuses above all on training. The sector faces a shortage of well-trained engineers, and without skilled people a standard on paper means little. That is something he wants to change.

Chair of Alarmgroep Nederland

Alarmgroep Nederland brings together installers, alarm receiving centres and alarm-response providers. It is a role with short lines to the police, insurers and fellow installers. The practical knowledge Kees gains there flows straight back into the work we do for you.

What we stand for

Four things we hold to

Everything managed in-house

Our own engineers, our own project managers, our own service desk. We do not work with subcontractors, so there is no one to point to if something goes wrong. You call us, and you reach someone who has your situation on screen straight away.

Workmanship that looks the part

For us, an installation is only handed over once it is neatly finished and technically sound. No untidy cabling, no loose ends, no "we will come back next week for that last sensor". That is not an extra, it is the minimum.

Personal and accessible

The engineer who knows your installation is also the engineer you see again at maintenance. In the event of a fault, including at the weekend, you reach someone who already knows your building. No changing faces, no telling the same story twice.

Honest advice, without obligation

We do not work with off-the-shelf packages, because buildings, sites and concerns are not standard. The advisory consultation is free. What you do with it afterwards is entirely up to you. No pushy sales, no package that is "a smart move anyway". Just honest advice.
